ZIM vs SA: Wiaan Mulder Breaks World Records with Triple Century in Zimbabwe

Wiaan Mulder scores 367*, breaks Amla’s record, becomes youngest Test captain to hit triple century for South Africa.

Wiaan Mulder has written his name in South African cricket history by scoring a stunning triple century against Zimbabwe in the second Test at Queen’s Sports Club, Bulawayo.

He remained unbeaten on 367 and now holds the record for the highest individual score by a South African batter in Test cricket, going past Hashim Amla’s 311 against England in 2012.

Fastest Triple Ton, Captain’s Record Too

Mulder reached his triple century in just 297 balls, making it the second-fastest triple hundred in Test history. Only Virender Sehwag got there quicker, in 278 balls.

He also became the highest-scoring South African captain in a Test match, overtaking Graeme Smith’s 277. At just 26, he’s now the youngest Test captain to score a triple hundred.

Strong Comeback After Early Wickets

Mulder came in at No. 3 after South Africa lost opener Tony de Zorzi early. He stayed firm even as the second wicket fell quickly. Along with Bendingham, Mulder built a strong stand and took complete control.

His knock was filled with clean strokes, smart running, and calmness at the crease. With each milestone, he looked more confident and composed.
