The high-stakes battle for a playoff spot continues in the IPL 2024 as the Royal Challengers Bengaluru face off against the Chennai Super Kings at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Both teams need a win to secure their place in the next round.
Chennai Super Kings captain Ruturaj Gaikwad won the toss and opted to field first. However, the move backfired as RCB posted a mammoth total of 218 runs on the board after their 20 overs.
Almost all of RCB‘s batters contributed with valuable runs. Even Glenn Maxwell, who has been struggling for form throughout the tournament, managed a quickfire 16 runs off just 5 deliveries.
However, while Maxwell was sitting alongside teammate Faf du Plessis, commentator Harbhajan Singh made some controversial remarks on the Australian batter.

“Ab ye aake khelna sikhayega jisse khud runs nahi ban rahe. (Now he will teach Faf du Plessis, who himself is not able to score runs).”
Maxwell has scored 52 runs in eight matches in the IPL 2024. While he may be going through a rough patch, netizens believe that Harbhajan Singh’s comments were unprofessional and disrespectful.
