Many fans expected a home and away format this time, especially after the smooth Women’s World Cup in 2025. But the board has decided to keep the league in a smaller set of venues for one more season. Officials believe this helps with planning, travel, and match quality.

The season will open at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. The ground has become a strong base for women’s cricket. It also hosted the 2025 Women’s World Cup final where India beat South Africa in front of a packed crowd.

From there, the league will move in a caravan style. All teams will start in Navi Mumbai before shifting to Vadodara for the closing leg. The final will be held there on February 5.

This is a change from 2025, when the league had games in Bengaluru, Lucknow, Mumbai, and Vadodara. That season ended with Mumbai Indians lifting their second title at Brabourne Stadium.

The 2026 calendar in India will be very busy. Just two days after the WPL ends, the men’s T20 World Cup 2026 begins on February 7. The event will be played across several Indian cities. The India versus Pakistan match is set for Colombo because of scheduling needs. The tournament will run till March 8.
