WPL 2027 Retentions: All Teams Retained, Released Players List with Purse Remaining Ahead of WPL Auction
WPL 2027 retention list: RCB and Gujarat Giants release key players, while UP Warriorz enter the auction with ₹3.65 crore.
All five Women’s Premier League franchises announced their retained and released players on September 28, setting up the squads for the WPL 2027 auction.
The 2027 WPL season will be played in January and February, while the auction is scheduled for October 28 at the Grand Hyatt in Kochi.
RCB released four players from their squad, with Grace Harris among the notable names to leave the franchise. The Bengaluru-based team will enter the auction with ₹1.15 crore in its purse.
Gujarat Giants also released four players, including Danni Wyatt-Hodge. The franchise has ₹1.25 crore remaining for the auction and will have room to make changes to its squad.
Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians and UP Warriorz made bigger changes, releasing six players each ahead of the auction.
UP Warriorz have the biggest purse among all five teams, with ₹3.65 crore available to spend in Kochi. They also have seven slots open, giving the franchise considerable room to reshape its squad.
Mumbai Indians have ₹1 crore remaining, while Delhi Capitals have ₹1.10 crore available. Both teams released six players and will look to fill the vacant slots at the auction.
