Pakistan Cricket Board, on Friday, September 22nd, named a 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC World Cup 2023, set to be played from October 5th in India.

In a widely expected move, Hasan Ali has replaced Naseem Shah in the World Cup squad as the young pacer suffered a shoulder injury at the Asia Cup 2023 and is slated for an extended recovery period.

Meanwhile, Shadab Khan retains his role as vice-captain and the team’s premier spin all-rounder. In a twist, Abrar Ahmed once speculated to step in for Shadab Khan, has been included in the reserve players.

Furthermore, Zaman Khan, the replacement for Naseem Shah during the Asia Cup 2023, has also been named in the travelling reserves, alongside Mohammad Haris.

Babar Azam, who had attended an event in Pakistan, was confronted with allegations of favouritism in his selection process for the World Cup squad, with claims that his favourite players made it in, while others ended up in the travelling reserves.

Even when confronted with an unconventional question, Babar Azam displayed his composure by responding with a sly smile and choosing not to offer a response. Fans are appreciating Pakistan captain for his composed response, and the video is spreading like wildfire on social media.
