“There Was No Prior Communication” – Virat Kohli Responds on His Sacking As ODI Captain

Kohli, who was recently replaced as India’s limited-overs captain by Rohit Sharma, confirmed his availability for the ODI leg of the South Africa tour, putting a full stop to the recent rumours about his unavailability.
Kohli, further speaking on ODI captaincy controversy, said that he had been notified about the change in captaincy before the selection committee meeting.
“I was and am available for selection (for the ODIs),” he said.
“I was contacted by selectors 1.5 hours before the meeting, we discussed the Test selection, then chief selectors told me I won’t be the ODI captain and I was fine with it. There was no prior communication.”
Talking about South Africa tour, the opening Test match will be played in Centurion at the SuperSport Park from December 26 to 30.
Johannesburg’s Wanderers Stadium will be hosting to the second Test between January 3 to 7 next year.
The third and final Test will be played in Newlands in Cape Town between January 11 to 15. Other than the Tests, team India is also scheduled to play three-match ODI series while the T20I series was rescheduled for later.
