Team India to Tour Bangladesh for Three ODIs and Two Tests
India will tour Bangladesh for three ODIs and two Tests in December.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), on Thursday (October 20) announced the itinerary for India’s tour to the neighboring country in December for three one-day internationals and two Tests.
It will be the first tour of India to Bangladesh since 2015. The action kicks off with the ODI series with all matches being scheduled to take place at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka.
The first Test of the two-match series will be played at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram before the action returns to Dhaka for the second and final match of the series.
The three one-day internationals will be played on December 4, 7, and 10 in Dhaka respectively while the first Test will be held at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram from December 14-18. The second Test will be played in Dhaka from December 22-26.
The President of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), Nazmul Hassan expressed delight while announcing the schedule for the much-anticipated series between Bangladesh and India:
“The Bangladesh-India matches in recent history have given us some epic contests and fans from both countries are eagerly waiting for another memorable series.”
Nazmul Hassan also expressed gratitude to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for working closely with BCB to confirm the schedule for the series:
“I thank the Board of Control for Cricket in India for working closely with the BCB in confirming the schedule. We look forward to welcoming the Indian team to Bangladesh.”
Jay Shah, the secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) also wished the Bangladesh Cricket Board for their upcoming series against Men in Blue:
“I extend my best wishes to the Bangladesh Cricket Board for the upcoming bilateral series featuring India. The India-Bangladesh contests generate tremendous interest among the fans thanks to the massive fan following the two teams enjoy.”
“We know how passionate the fans in Bangladesh are and I am sure they will be treated to some exhilarating contests both in white-ball and red-ball cricket. With the crucial World Test Championship points at stake, the two Test matches are very important and both teams will go hard for the win.”
