PSL 2023: India-origin Player Registers to Play in Pakistan Super League
The PSL 8 draft is expected to be announced later this month.
The preliminary list of players for the PSL 2023 Draft was released earlier this week. Some of the big names from world cricket like David Miller, Shakib Al Hasan, Dawid Malan, Reece Topley, and Martin Guptill, have enlisted themselves in the league.
Meanwhile, in one of the most intriguing enrollments, the Indian-origin cricketer Jaskaran Malhotra has also registered his name in the upcoming PSL 2023 Draft. Malhotra was born in Chandigarh but represents the USA on the international stage.
Malhotra hogged the limelight last year when he clobbered six sixes in an over during a 50-over match against Papua New Guinea. Notably, if any franchise shows interest in him, he will become one of the few Indian-origin players to take part in the Pakistan Super League.
The likes of Samit Patel, Sunil Narine, Denesh Ramdin, and Ravi Bopara are the four Indian-origin players, who have played in the Pakistan Super League. Though, not a single Indian cricketer has ever taken a part in PSL.
The PSL 8 draft is expected to be announced this month as the six franchises prepare to shape up their squads for the mega-event. Pakistan’s premier T20 league is scheduled to take place from February 9 to March 19 next year across four venues.
