Pakistan, Zimbabwe Squads Get All Clear After COVID-19 Tests

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Tuesday confirmed that all the players and support staff of Pakistan and Zimbabwe were tested for COVID-19 and all tests have returned negative ahead of the limited-overs series starting later this week.

The tests were conducted on Monday as part of the PCB’s COVID-19 protocols for the bilateral series.

“A total of 107 Covid-19 tests, conducted on the players and player support personnel of Zimbabwe and Pakistan sides as well as the match officials, have returned negative. The tests were conducted on Monday as part of the PCB’s Covid-19 Protocols following the assembling of the two sides in Islamabad,” PCB said in a statement.

“All players, officials and staff have moved into a hub in a five-star hotel in Islamabad, the PCB said, and “are now allowed to interact with each other and move freely within the bio-secure bubble.”

Both teams will start training from Tuesday, October 27 at the Pindi Cricket Stadium, which will host the three ODIs and three T20I.

Earlier it was going to be held in Lahore but due to the deteriorating air quality, PCB cancelled it and shifted it to Rawalpindi.

Earlier, the games were scheduled to be played at the Gadaffi Stadium in Lahore on November 07,08 and 10. However, now along with the games of the Pakistan Super League, it has been moved out of Lahore.
