Team India suffered a massive blow ahead of the series opener against South Africa as their star pacer Jasprit Bumrah ruled out of the opening T20I after complaining of back pain during India’s practice session on Tuesday.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) took to Twitter to give an update.

“Jasprit Bumrah complained of back pain during India’s practice session on Tuesday. The BCCI Medical Team assessed him. He is ruled out of the first #INDvSA T20I,” wrote BCCI.

As for the match, India captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to field first against South Africa. Here are the playing XIs of both sides taking the field against each other in the first T20I of the series.
