IPL 2024: Who is Manav Suthar? The Left-Arm GT Spinner Making His Debut Against RCB

Manav Suthar made his debut against RCB.

Gujarat Titans handed young Manav Suthar his debut during the 52nd IPL 2024 match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, at M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

The left-arm spinner replaced R Sai Kishore in the team. This is a significant moment for the young bowler, who was picked up by Gujarat Titans at the base price of INR 20 lakh.

Although he is mostly known for his bowling skills, Manav Suthar has already shown what he is made of in domestic cricket, making his debut back in 2022.

He has got quite the impressive record across all formats, bagging 84 wickets in 14 First-Class matches, along with eight List-A games and seven T20s.

What’s more, his batting average in First-Class cricket is a solid 30.50, proving he’s not just a one-trick pony.

Suthar’s debut comes at a crucial juncture for the Gujarat Titans. Currently placed eighth on the points table with four wins and six losses, they desperately need a victory to maintain their playoff hopes.

Meanwhile, RCB sits at the 10th spot with only three wins, and a loss in this game would eliminate them from the competition.
