IPL 2024: Tennis Legend Mahesh Bhupathi Requests BCCI to Change Ownership of RCB

Mahesh Bhupathi urged BCCI to hand over RCB in a capable hands.

Renowned tennis player Mahesh Bhupathi slammed the RCB team management for their poor bowling performance against Sunrisers Hyderabad, allowing the highest ever total in IPL history at M Chinnaswamy stadium, Bengaluru.

Sunrisers Hyerabad outdid themselves, setting a new IPL benchmark with the highest total ever. Bhupathi, furious, took to X to call for BCCI intervention in selling RCB to a new owner with the vision to build a successful team.

Here’s what Mahesh Bhupathi wrote on Twitter:

“For the sake of the Sport , the IPL, the fans and even the players I think BCCI needs to enforce the Sale of RCB to a New owner who will care to build a sports franchise the way most of the other teams have done so.”

At the end, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) fell 20 runs short of the target and lost their sixth match of the ongoing season. Their only victory in the tournament came against Punjab Kings.
