IPL 2024: Mumbai Indians Make Ishan Kishan Wear Superman Costume as Punishment
Ishan Kishan wore the Superman costume as punishment handed out by the Mumbai Indians management.
Ishan Kishan was spotted wearing a Superman costume at the Mumbai airport. This comes as a Mumbai Indians’ interdisciplinary action against the players who violate team rules.
However, the reason behind Ishan Kishan‘s punishment by the Mumbai Indians remains undisclosed, leaving the revelation of the Superman costume unresolved.
However, it has not been revealed what rule Ishan Kishan broke to receive a punishment from the Mumbai Indians team.
Former captain Rohit Sharma had previously revealed that in the MI camp, there’s a tradition where a player failing to follow the rules faces a humorous public skit.
Therefore, if a player is tardy for meetings or the team bus, they are playfully disciplined by having to wear a funny superhero costume to the next gathering. This amusing consequence was enacted on the stumper-batter during IPL 2018.
“I was told about it two days earlier, but I completely forgot. So, I missed my gym session. I’m feeling quite awkward, but still. That’s why I haven’t taken off my sunglasses inside the airport. I don’t want to make eye contact with anyone. I won’t make this mistake again. I will make sure of that,” Kishan had said back in 2018.
As for the Mumbai Indians, the team has lost three consecutive matches. Their most recent defeat came against the Rajasthan Royals at their home turf, Wankhede Stadium. They are currently languishing at the bottom of the points table.
