The emerging fast-bowling talent, Mayank Yadav of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), suffered a side strain during the latest IPL 2024 clash against Gujarat Titans and walked off the field after delivering only one over.
Although the team hasn’t made any official announcements, reports suggest that he could be sidelined for the next 4 to 5 matches due to the time needed for recovery from the side strain.
If this turns out to be true, it would be a big blow for the Lucknow Super Giants, as Mayank Yadav has been their standout fast bowler, especially in the absence of Mohsin Khan.
Memorable Debut for Mayank Yadav
In his debut match against Punjab Kings, Mayank Yadav made an immediate impact by taking three crucial wickets. He carried on his stellar performance in the next game, picking up another three-wicket haul against RCB.
Mayank Yadav did take the field to bowl against Gujarat; however, his spell was short-lived as he could only bowl one over, conceding 13 runs before leaving the field.
