IPL 2023 Retention: Mumbai Indians (MI) Retained And Released Players List
Mumbai Indians decided to release their long-serving all-rounder Kieron Pollard ahead of IPL 2023 mini-auction.
The five-time champions, Mumbai Indians (MI), endured their worst-ever IPL season earlier this year as they became the first team to be knocked out of the tournament.
The most successful franchise in the history of IPL finished the 2022 season at the bottom of the points table, having won just four matches out of the 14 they played in the tournament.
They could never stamp their authority in the 2022 edition of the tournament as a unit. While in some matches, their batting clicked, a handful of games had their bowling tested.
While some players like Tilak Varma, who was the top-scorer for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2022 impressed one and all with his aggressive hitting and temperament, there were few who failed to deliver as per expectations.
Ahead of IPL 2023 mini-auction, set to take place in December later this year, Mumbai Indians will look to release some of their players who have failed to live up to the hype while retaining their core.
