IPL 2023 Retention: Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) Retained And Released Players List

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), who were one of the two new franchises that made their debut in IPL 2022, had an average campaign in the last edition of the tournament.

The KL Rahul-led side made it to the playoffs but lost the eliminator against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and were knocked out of the tournament.

They had many match-winners in their ranks in the form of Quinton de Kock, Mohsin Khan, and Ravi Bishnoi, who delivered some impactful performances in the 2022 edition of IPL.

While some players couldn’t perform as per expectations despite being given plenty of chances, few players couldn’t get a single match to prove their mettle in the cash-rich league.

Unlike the mega-auction held for the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), the 2023 season will witness a mini-auction, set to take place in December later this year in Kochi.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had asked all ten franchises to submit the list of their retained and released players by November 15.

Lucknow Super Giants, meanwhile will definitely look to bolster their squad, especially the middle order, which lacked firepower in the previous edition of the tournament.

Hence, the Goenka-owned franchise will be eager to release some players ahead of IPL 2023 mini-auction to gather some money and expand their purse.
