IPL 2023 Auction: Remaining Purse of IPL Teams After Retention 2023
The IPL 2023 auction will be held in December in Kochi.
As the dust starts settling down after the conclusion of the T20 World Cup, IPL franchises have kicked off their preparation for the 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
A lot of chopping and changing has been done as all ten franchises have released a plethora of players ahead of IPL 2023 mini-auction.
Sunrisers Hyderabad, who let go of their captain Kane Williamson and Nicholas Pooran, will head into the IPL 2023 auction with the highest purse of over INR 40 Crore.
Punjab Kings, meanwhile, have INR 32.20 crore left in their purse after they released their former skipper Mayank Agarwal, who was acquired by Preity Zinta and Ness Wadia co-owned franchise for INR 14 Crore.
Lucknow Super Giants, on the other hand, will be heading into the IPL 2023 auction with a purse of INR 23.35 Crore. They released the likes of Manish Pandey, Evin Lewis, and Jason Holder along with four others to free up their purse.
Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings, the two most successful franchises of the Indian Premier League (IPL) are left with a purse of INR 20.25 Crore and 20.45 Crore.
Royal Challengers Bangalore, however, didn’t bring many changes to their squad. They have INR 8.75 Crore left in their kitty.
The runner-up of IPL 2022, Rajasthan Royals have INR 13.2 in their purse while the defending champions Gujarat Titans will head into the showpiece event with INR 19.25 Crore.
IPL 2023 Auction: Remaining Purse Balance of IPL Teams
In addition to the money left over from their previous auction purse and the value of the players they have released, each team will have an additional INR 5 crore to spend at this auction, making the overall purse INR 95 crore.
