As Harbhajan Singh pulled out of IPL 2020 due to personal reasons. Now the franchise has a difficult task to find a suitable replacement for him. Harbhajan Singh was their lead spinner. So it will be quite difficult for CSK to find an exact replacement for him.
CSK’s lead spinner is the second to pull out of IPL after Suresh Raina. Suresh Raina had pulled out of IPL 2020 due to personal reasons last week. He had flown to UAE but came back due to personal reasons.
Chennai Super Kings now have a difficult task to find a suitable replacement for their lead spinner, Harbhajan.
According to sources, three players are there who can replace him in the IPL 2020.
Manoj Tiwary
Tiwary has played 98 IPL matches. He has plenty of experience of playing under MS Dhoni. He can not be an exact replacement for Harbhajan but he can prove himself in IPL 2020 by his all-round skills. He went unsold in IPL 2019 and IPL 2020.
Tiwary hinted that he wants to make a comeback by responding to a tweet just after Harbhajan pulled out of this season.
Here is the tweet of Manoj Tiwary-
Jalaj Saxena
Saxena is a right-hand batsman and off-break bowler from Kerala. He has also represented the India A and Central Zone cricket team.
He has played 123 first-class matches in which he has managed 6334 runs at 35.98 with 14 hundred and 31 fifties.
He has been a player of Royal Challengers Bangalore(2015), Mumbai Indians(2013) and Delhi Capitals (2018). But he hasn’t played any IPL matches yet.
The right-arm off-spinner has a proven record in the T20s, where he has played 54 matches, and picked up 49 wickets at an economy rate of 6.92. Overall he can be a very good replacement for Harbhajan in this season.
Harsh Tyagi
Harsh, the left-arm spinner, came into the limelight after his six-for in the final of U-19 Asia Cup 2018, has 13 wickets in 17 matches. He has an economy rate of 6.76 in this format. Harsh has also scored 123 runs off 108 balls he has played.
He hasn’t been a part of the IPL team so far. He has flown to UAE as a net bowler with one of the teams.
We can consider him as a strong contender to replace Harbhajan Singh in IPL 2020.
