Virender Sehwag praised Ajinkya Rahane for his fantastic of captaincy in the second test against Australia.
The 2nd Test match, i.e. Boxing Day Test of 4 match series between Australia and India is being played at Melbourne Cricket Ground. In the absence of Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane is leading Indian team.
Australia won the toss and elected to bat first could score only 195 runs in the first innings. Rahane’s a strategy to restrict Australia to a small score is proven to be effective.
Cricket veterans also impressed with Ajinkya Rahane’s captaincy and former Indian opener and veteran Virender Sehwag is the latest addition to the list.
Sehwag took to Instagram and write, ” Outstanding bowling changes and really smart fielding placements from Rahane. And the bowlers delivered. Ashwin, Bumrah, Siraj were absolutely brilliant. Great effort to get Australia all out for 195 on the first day. Now for the batters to get the good first-innings lead and score so much that don’t have to chase more than 36 in fourth innings.”
India restricts Australia at 195 runs thanks to fantastic bowling performance of Jasprit Bumrah (4), Ravichandran Ashwin (3) and Mohammad Siraj (2) and Ravindra Jadeja (1).
However, India didn’t get the type of start they wanted. Since Mayank Agarwal returned back to the pavilion for a golden duck. But Shubman Gill handled the innings and at the end of 1st day. India scored 36 for 1 wicket.
