India Announce ODI and T20I Squads for West Indies Series
India announce ODI and T20I squads for West Indies series, with Gill and Iyer leading and several players recalled.
India have announced their squads for the upcoming white-ball series against the West Indies, with three ODIs and five T20Is scheduled from September 27 to October 17.
Shubman Gill will lead the ODI side, while Shreyas Iyer has been named captain of the T20I team. The series will be played across six cities in India.
The ODI squad includes Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ruturaj Gaikwad and KL Rahul, while Ravindra Jadeja returns to the 50-over setup. Yashasvi Jaiswal has also been included in the squad.
Auqib Nabi and Naman Dhir have received their maiden ODI call-ups. Gurnoor Brar and Prasidh Krishna are also part of the pace attack, alongside Mohammed Siraj.
Nitish Kumar Reddy has been included in the ODI squad after being withdrawn from the Asian Games squad. Vipraj Nigam has been named as his replacement for the Asian Games.
In the T20I squad, Abhishek Sharma, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Ishan Kishan, Sanju Samson and Tilak Varma retain their places. Shivam Dube, Axar Patel and Washington Sundar are also included.
Mayank Yadav, Kuldeep Yadav and Prince Yadav have been recalled to the T20I setup. Arshdeep Singh will lead the pace attack, with Nitish Kumar Reddy also part of the squad.
Varun Chakaravarthy has missed out after suffering a side strain. His absence comes ahead of the five-match T20I series against the West Indies.
The ODI series will begin in Trivandrum on September 27, followed by matches in Guwahati on September 30 and New Chandigarh on October 3.
The T20I series will then begin in Lucknow on October 6. The remaining matches will be played in Ranchi, Indore, Hyderabad and Bengaluru.
