Asia Cup 2025: List of Indian-Origin Players Who Will Play for UAE Against India
Several India-born cricketers will represent UAE and Oman in Asia Cup 2025, facing India in Group A matches.
India will begin their Asia Cup 2025 journey on Wednesday with a high-voltage clash against the United Arab Emirates. The Suryakumar Yadav-led side is in Group A, alongside Oman and Pakistan.
What makes this game even more interesting is the number of India-born players who will turn up against their country of birth. Both UAE and Oman have several cricketers of Indian origin who are now important members of their squads.
Here are five such names to watch out for.
Simranjeet Singh – UAE (Punjab)
Born in Punjab, Simranjeet Singh once bowled to a young Shubman Gill in Mohali nets. During the second COVID-19 wave, he got stuck in Dubai, which later became his new home. Today, he is a key spin bowler for UAE with 25 wickets in 17 matches across ODIs and T20Is.
Aryansh Sharma – UAE (Ghaziabad, UP)
Aryansh Sharma shifted to UAE with his family at the age of two. The wicketkeeper-batter from Ghaziabad has shown good promise with the bat. He has 365 runs in 15 innings at an average of 26.07 and a strike rate of 111.28.
Dhruv Parashar – UAE (Pune, Maharashtra)
Born in Pune, Dhruv moved to UAE as a four-year-old. The young spin-bowling all-rounder has made his mark in T20Is, where he has taken 25 wickets in 22 games. With the bat, he is still finding his feet but adds balance to the side.
Jatinder Singh – Oman (Ludhiana, Punjab)
A familiar face in Oman cricket, Jatinder Singh moved from Ludhiana with his family in 2003. The top-order batter has been the backbone of Oman’s batting, scoring over 3000 runs in 61 ODIs and 64 T20Is combined.
Samay Shrivastava – Oman (Bhopal, MP)
Born in Bhopal, Samay Shrivastava joined Oman when the country invited overseas cricketers to strengthen its team. A leg-spinner by trade, he has played 27 international white-ball games and picked up 40 wickets, making him a crucial weapon in the middle overs.
