And He Was Warning Dhawan In The Previous Match: Twitterati Reacts As Kieron Pollard Seen Running Even Before Mohammed Shami Releases The Ball

Kieron Pollard gave mankad warning to Shikhar Dhawan in the 13th match.

Twitter came down heavily on Mumbai Indians all-rounder Kieron Pollard after he started running even before Mohammed Shami had delivered the ball in the PBKS vs MI IPL 2021 match at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

It was in the last over of the Punjab innings, where Mohammed Shami was bowling and Pollard was at the non-strikers end with Krunal Pandya facing the ball. However, Pollard was seen already starting to run even before Shami released the ball.

Meanwhile, the incident didn’t go well with the commentator Murali Kartik and he criticized Pollard for his action. Not just this, he also demanded penalty runs for such things.

Here it is worth noting that the MI all-rounder gave “mankad warning” to DC opener Shikhar Dhawan in the 13th match of the Indian Premier League.

It happened as Pollard ran in to bowl the 2nd ball of the 10th over of DC innings when he stopped in his run-up without releasing the ball and pointed to Dhawan to stay in the crease. Prior to that, Krunal Pandya too had stopped twice in his run-up with Dhawan at the nonstriker’s end.

While many are calling it Hypocrisy, few have called for penalty runs. There are also people who are finding nothing wrong in it.

As long as the match is concerned, Punjab Kings won the game by nine wickets as Mumbai Indians continued their below-average run in IPL 2021. Earlier in the match, Punjab Kings won the toss and invited Rohit Sharma and company to show up with the willow first. Mumbai Indians could never set up the tone of a good target and reached merely 131 runs in 20 overs. Skipper Rohit did shine for the team with his 52-ball 63 but turned out to be the lone warrior.

Mumbai Indians have now lost three of their first five games in IPL 2021 but they will be relieved that the Chennai leg of their campaign is over. They will now travel to Delhi where they will lock horns with Rajasthan Royals in six days’ time.
