Afghanistan to Host Bangladesh and Zimbabwe in UAE for Multi-Format Series
Afghanistan will host Bangladesh and Zimbabwe in the UAE across Tests, ODIs and T20Is from October to November.
The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has announced a busy home season in the UAE, with Bangladesh and Zimbabwe set to visit for a multi-format series from October to November.
The schedule will begin with a one-off Test between Afghanistan and Bangladesh from October 9 to 13. The match will give both teams an early chance to test their red-ball strength.
Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe will then compete in a tri-nation ODI series from October 17 to 23. The three teams will face each other in the 50-over format as Afghanistan continues to build its international calendar.
Afghanistan will next take on Zimbabwe in three T20Is from October 27 to November 1. The series will provide another chance for Afghanistan’s players to gain experience in the shortest format.
The two sides will then return to the longer format, with Afghanistan hosting Zimbabwe for two Tests from November 5 to 17. This will bring the multi-format assignment to a close.

The series comes after Afghanistan’s previous Test appearance against India in June. The packed schedule will give the Afghan team valuable match practice across all three formats.
“We are pleased to confirm this important period of international cricket for the Afghanistan National Team,” the ACB said. It added that playing Bangladesh and Zimbabwe across different formats would provide valuable competitive opportunities for its players.
The board also stressed its commitment to regular international cricket and thanked the Bangladesh Cricket Board and Zimbabwe Cricket for helping make the assignments possible.
The UAE will therefore become the centre of Afghanistan’s international cricket for more than a month, with Tests, ODIs and T20Is all part of the schedule.
