Whenever Team India faces off against arch-rivals Pakistan, all eyes are on Virat Kohli, both on and off the field. Just recently, the official X [Formerly Twitter] handle of Pakistan Cricket shared a video of Virat Kohli meeting Pakistan cricketers like Haris Rauf, Shadab Khan, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Afridi.
That video was pure gold and took over social media like wildfire, building up the excitement for the India-Pakistan clash on September 2, which was eventually called off due to the rain. India, opting to bat first, were bowled out for 266 runs in 48.5 overs. Ishan Kishan (82) and Hardik Pandya (87) were the standout performers for the Men in Blue.
Meanwhile, the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli did not quite rise to the occasion. While Rohit Sharma could only muster 11 runs from 22 deliveries, Kohli managed just 4 runs from 7 balls before both were sent packing by Pakistan speedster Shaheen Shah Afridi.
The second innings did not even kick off because the rain just wouldn’t quit. Not a single ball was thrown in the second innings. While the players hung around in the pavilion, Virat Kohli was off having a good time with the Pakistan players, chatting it up and enjoying himself. But, this didn’t sit right with a bunch of Indian fans on social media.
Take a look at what’s happening on social media regarding Virat Kohli’s meet-up with the Pakistan players. People are talking up a storm, mostly because of the whole India-Pakistan political drama and their not-so-great relationship.
