Hardik Pandya and Ishan Kishan were on fire with their batting, but the real showstopper during Pakistan vs India’s match on September 2 was the ‘Ram Siya Ram’ song that was being played at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium every time a player hit a boundary or a six.
India’s batting innings couldn’t have begun worse. They won the toss, went in to bat, and then disaster struck as Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were dismissed cheaply by Pakistan star pacer Shaheen Afridi. And just to make matters worse, Harish Rauf sent Shreyas Iyer and Shubman Gill packing soon after that, putting India in dire straits at 66/4 after a mere 14.1 overs.
That’s when the dynamic duo, Ishan Kishan (82) and Hardik Pandya (87), unleashed their fury and put together a blazing partnership of 138, salvaging India’s innings. Jasprit Bumrah, surprisingly, was the third-highest run-scorer for India, contributing 16 runs from just 14 balls as India was bowled out for 266 runs in 48.5 overs.
