“It has been an incredible journey, but I have decided to retire from all cricket,” wrote AB de Villiers.
Ever since the back yard matches with my older brothers, I have played the game with pure enjoyment and unbridled enthusiasm. Now, at the age of 37, that flame no longer burns so brightly,” added AB de Villiers.
Taking retirement from all the forms of cricket means he will no longer play IPL for Royal Challengers Bangalore. He took retirement from international cricket back in 2018.
AB De Villiers played for Bangalore franchise for 11 years and is retiring without an IPL trophy. He had a great time playing for RCB in Indian Premier League, accumulating 5162 runs in 170 innings so far at an average of 39.71 and Strike rate of 151.69.
