SL vs PAK: Sarfaraz Ahmed Becomes First Pakistan Wicketkeeper to Cross 3000 Runs in Test Cricket

Sarfaraz Ahmed accomplished this feat during the ongoing Test match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka in Galle.

Former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed completed 3000 test runs and became the first wicketkeeper from his country to achieve this landmark. This historic achievement was accomplished during the ongoing Test match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka in Galle.

The 36-year-old stepped on the field, requiring just eight runs to get the milestone and he ended up scoring a 15-ball 17 in Pakistan’s first innings with the help of three boundaries, racing to 3,009 runs in 55 Test appearances.

Following a disappointing run of performances in 2019, Sarfaraz Ahmed was dropped from the national squad. However, he staged a stellar comeback to the team during a two-match series against New Zealand in December 2022

Returning to the fray with a bang, he left an indelible mark with scores of 86, 53, 78, and 118 in each of the four innings. He topped the run-scoring chart for Pakistan in that series with 335 runs at an average of 83.75. He was also adjudged the Player of the Series.
