Australian media accused Indian players of breaking the bio-security protocol. The incident was taken into account when Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, Shubman Gill, Navdeep Saini and Prithvi Shaw were seen in a restaurant in Melbourne.
BCCI defended the team terming “a malicious spin by a section of Australian media”.
A senior Indian cricket board official told PTI that the visiting contingent is “well aware” of the Covid-19 protocols and had not violated any of them.
“No, there has been no breach of bio-security protocols. Everyone associated with the Indian team is well aware of the protocols,” the official said on conditions of anonymity.
As per protocols, players are allowed to eat out provided they take necessary precautions.
“We can only term it as a malicious spin by a section of Australian media and this has started after their humiliating defeat,” he added.
“The Australian media at times acts as an extension of their cricket team,” the BCCI official said.

It all started when a fan named Navaldeep Singh posted a video on social media in which Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, Shubman Gill, Navdeep Saini and Prithvi Shaw were seen sitting inside the restaurant in Melbourne.

Navaldeep Singh also tweeted later. He tweeted that Rishabh Pant did not hug him. He said this in the Excitement. Navaldeep said that the Indian team ate food within the scope of the protocol.
