India defeated New Zealand by 101 runs to win the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday.

James Neesham was the best bowler for New Zealand. He finished with 3 for 46 and even picked up three wickets in a single over, but India’s scoring rate stayed high.
New Zealand’s Chase Collapses

Jasprit Bumrah delivered a match-winning spell. He finished with outstanding figures of 4 for 13, removing key batters and breaking the backbone of the chase.
Axar Patel supported him well with three wickets. His spell dismantled the New Zealand middle order and ensured there was no late comeback.
New Zealand were eventually restricted to 154 for 9 in 18 overs. India sealed a huge 101-run victory to lift the trophy in front of a roaring home crowd.
More than 100,000 fans packed the Narendra Modi Stadium, turning the venue into a sea of blue. The atmosphere grew louder with every wicket and boundary.
Before the match, former India captains Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni brought out the World Cup trophy. The closing ceremony also featured performances by Ricky Martin, Falguni Pathak and Sukhbir.
