Two Australian women cricketers were molested in Indore while walking to a café from their hotel during the ICC Women’s World Cup. The incident took place late Friday evening near the MIG area.

A motorcyclist followed the players and touched them inappropriately before fleeing the scene. The cricketers immediately contacted their team security officer, who rushed to arrange a vehicle and ensure their safe return to the hotel.

The officer later filed a complaint at the MIG police station. Acting swiftly, police registered an FIR and began tracing the suspect. Within hours, they detained Aqeel Khan after a bystander provided his motorcycle number.

Police confirmed that Khan has previous criminal cases. Sub-Inspector Nidhi Raghuvanshi said:

“The cricketers were walking towards a café when a motorcyclist followed and touched them inappropriately before riding away.”

Officials recorded statements from the victims, and a case has been registered under Sections 74 and 78 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Investigation is ongoing, and police have assured that strict action will follow once the case is verified.

Local authorities and ICC security teams have tightened surveillance around the players’ accommodations and practice zones. Tournament officials said all participating teams have been informed, and additional safety protocols are now in place.
