Lucknow Super Giants Target Ex-KKR Coach Ahead of IPL 2026
LSG eye former KKR bowling coach Bharat Arun ahead of IPL 2026 to fix death bowling issues.
Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) might be on the verge of making a smart trade ahead of IPL 2026. As per early reports, LSG are keen to rope in former Kolkata Knight Riders bowling coach Bharat Arun, who recently parted ways with the franchise after a four-year stint.
This could turn out to be a big boost for Lucknow’s struggling pace department.
Arun-ZA Combo Incoming?
Bharat Arun had joined KKR in 2022 and was part of their coaching staff when they won the title in 2024.
Now, with Zaheer Khan already part of LSG’s backroom staff, the franchise wants to bring Arun onboard to strengthen their pace core, which lacked sting in the 2025 season.
Especially at the death, LSG leaked runs badly, something they would want to fix before next year.
Not Just a Trade, a Rebuild
If the deal goes through, this might be one of the most important off-field trades of the season. Arun’s experience with India’s national team and IPL outfits can help LSG build a more complete attack.
His calm presence and process-driven mindset has helped several fast bowlers evolve over time.
LSG’s middle overs looked fine last season, with spinners like Digvesh Rathi stepping up, but their death bowling was a worry. Bringing in someone like Bharat Arun, who focuses on execution and discipline, might just be the first step toward fixing that.
There’s no official confirmation yet, but this trade could be just what Lucknow needs to bounce back in IPL 2026.
