Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) is one of the most popular teams in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The franchise was formed in 2008 and is co-owned by Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, actress Juhi Chawla, and her husband Jay Mehta. The team is known for its vibrant purple and gold colors, with fans calling themselves the "Knight Riders."

KKR's early seasons were challenging, but the team rose to prominence under the leadership of Gautam Gambhir, who guided them to IPL titles in 2012 and 2014. In IPL 2024, KKR added a third IPL title to their cabinet under captain Shreyas Iyer, with Gambhir serving as the mentor.

Some of their star performers include Sunil Narine, a world-class all-rounder, and Andre Russell, known for his explosive batting and crucial bowling.
