Flying Ants Attack on Players at Lord’s! Unbelievable Scene During IND vs ENG 3rd Test
Flying ants invade Lord’s during the ENG vs IND Test, causing a rare mid-session pause on Day 1.
Day 1 of the third Test between India and England at Lord’s had a bit of everything. Joe Root stood tall with an unbeaten 99, but the strangest moment came late in the day when flying ants caused a brief halt in play.
Game Stopped Due to Flying Ants
It happened during the 81st over. Out of nowhere, a swarm of flying ants swept across the field. Jasprit Bumrah looked clearly disturbed, as did the batters. The umpires decided to pause the game while players waited for things to settle.

Ben Stokes, the England captain, didn’t look too eager to continue either. Though play resumed after a short delay, the moment left fans and players equally surprised.
Lord’s, known for its tradition, had never seen something like this before. In the past, cricket has seen play stopped because of bees or even snakes on the ground. Now, flying ants have joined that unusual list.
India Impress With the Ball, Root Anchors England
On the cricketing front, India would be happy with their performance. After being asked to bowl, they kept things tight. Nitish Kumar Reddy picked up two early wickets to put pressure on England.
England stayed cautious. The aggressive Bazball style was missing. Joe Root led the batting, playing patiently to finish the day unbeaten on 99.
Ben Stokes supported him well with 39 not out. England ended Day 1 at 251/4, and the match is nicely balanced heading into Day 2.
