Big Twist in IPL! CSK Confirms Trade Interest in Sanju Samson
CSK interested in trading for Sanju Samson, but no official talks yet; RR to decide after London review meet

Sanju Samson might be on his way to Chennai Super Kings. A senior CSK official has confirmed that the team is interested in trading for the Rajasthan Royals captain. However, no official talks have taken place yet.
“We are definitely looking at Sanju. He is an Indian batter, who is a keeper and an opener. So if he is available, we will certainly have a look at the option of having him in our fold,” the CSK official told Cricbuzz.
“Who we will trade him with we have not taken that call because the matter has not gone that far. But yes, in principle, we are interested.”
Samson was the No. 1 retention for Rajasthan Royals at a price of ₹18 crore. To get him, CSK will have to offer a player of similar value. One such name is Ruturaj Gaikwad, CSK’s new captain, who is also retained at ₹18 crore.
But this trade seems unlikely, as CSK head coach Stephen Fleming has often said that Ruturaj was made captain with a long-term plan in mind.
At the moment, the trading window is open. It is not clear if CSK will make an official offer. But sources say other teams have also shown interest in Sanju Samson.
Meanwhile, the Rajasthan Royals have just finished their season review meeting in London. Head coach Rahul Dravid was also part of the meeting. It is said that the Royals management looked at offers for many players, not just Samson.
RR has two Indian keeper-batters in its squad, Sanju Samson and Dhruv Jurel. These are very valuable players in the IPL, as they can bat in the top order and also keep wickets.
So, Royals will only trade Samson if they get a worthy replacement. The final decision will be taken by RR lead owner Manoj Badale.
