Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore, on Thursday thrashed Rajasthan Royals by 10 wickets and claimed the top spot in the points table again.

It was RCB’s fourth consecutive win in the IPL 2021. They are the only unbeaten side of the ongoing season of Indian Premier League. First they defeated Mumbai Indians, then Sunrisers Hyderabad and went on to beat Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals.

Earlier in the match, Rajasthan Royals had batted first after Virat Kohli after a long time won a toss and chose to bowl first. The decision of the skipper proved to be a good one as Rajasthan lost their openers Jos Buttler and Manan Vohra for the single-digit score. Shivam Dube (46), Riyan Parag (25), and Rahul Tewatia (40) were the major contributors to RR’s final total of 177/9 in 20 overs.

For RCB, Mohammed Siraj picked 3/27 and Harshal Patel took 3/47.

In reply, RCB openers Devdutt Padikkal and Virat Kohli toyed with the opponent bowlers as they chased down the target without even losing a wicket with 21 balls in hand as well. Devdutt Padikkal scored 101* in 52 balls with 11 fours and 6 sixes to his name which is his first century in the IPL and second in T20 format while Kohli remained unbeaten and scored 47-ball 72.
