Beximco Dhaka skipper Mushfiqur Rahim lost his cool and nearly hit his teammate Nasum Ahmed in the recent Bangabandhu T20 Cup encounter between Beximco Dhaka and Fortune Barishal on Monday.
Although Beximco Dhaka led by Mushfiqur Rahim managed to defeat Fortune Barishal in a close encounter by nine runs, the match will always be infamous for the disgraceful incident.
The incident took place in the 17th over of the second innings when Fortune Barishal needed 45 runs off 19 balls. Afif Hossain tried to sneak a boundary off the last ball of the over but ended up hitting it high in the sky. Both Mushfiqur Rahim, the wicket-keeper and Nasum Ahmed, the bowler, chased the ball and the former reached there before colliding with each other.
Things got ugly when Mushfiqur, furious with Nasum, tried to hit him in the heat of the moment. The other players intervened to bring the situation under control.

As long as the match is concerned, Beximco Dhaka won the thrilling game by nine runs. Asked to bat first, Beximco Dhaka posted a target of 150 runs for 8 wickets on the scoreboard. Yasir Ali top-scored was the highest run-getter with the bat, scoring 54 while Mushfiqur Rahim played a crucial knock of 43.
In reply, Fortune Barishal ended their innings on 141 for 9. Afif Hossain top-scored for them, scoring 55 while the other batsmen failed to make notable contributions. For Dhaka, Shafiqul Islam and Muktar Ali picked three wickets each.
