India’s young stars Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill had a solid partnership on Day 1 of the first Test against England at Headingley, Leeds.
The duo added 126 runs for the third wicket and looked very comfortable at the crease. Jaiswal reached his fifth Test hundred, his first on English soil.
He was later dismissed for 101 by England captain Ben Stokes, just after tea. But what caught fans’ attention during their partnership was not just the runs — but the fun conversation between the two batters.
“Call Me Loudly, No!” – Jaiswal’s Funny Chat Goes Viral
A short clip from the live broadcast went viral on social media. In it, Yashasvi Jaiswal can be heard telling Shubman Gill to call him loudly if he doesn’t want to run.
“Loudly bolna ‘No’ warna main bhaag jaata hoon,” Jaiswal said with a smile.
Jaiswal was joking about his habit of running after hitting the ball, even when the run isn’t on. The young batter asked his captain to make his “no calls” clearer to avoid confusion.
Fans found the moment funny and real, showing the great bonding between the two top-order batters. Even commentators had a laugh while praising their chemistry on the field.
Both Jaiswal and Gill looked in control, with Gill scoring a half-century himself. While Jaiswal attacked the bowlers with his usual flair, Gill played a more calm and composed innings.
This partnership gave India a strong start after losing KL Rahul and Sai Sudharsan early in the innings.
