The South Africa and Royal Challengers Bangalore‘s fast bowler, Dale Steyn hailed his fellow teammate and fast bowler Mohammed Siraj for his sensational performance against Kolkata Knight Riders in Abu Dhabi on Friday.
Siraj became the first bowler to bowl two maiden overs in the same Indian Premier League (IPL) match. He returned figures of three wickets for no runs from his first two overs.
Siraj destructed KKR’s top order in his first two overs as he dismissed Rahul Tripathi, Nitish Rana and Tom Banton without conceding a run. He registered his spell of 3-8 in four overs.
KKR couldn’t stand before Siraj’s crazy bowling attack and managed to score only 84 for 8 in the allotted 20 overs, which RCB chased down with ease.
Dale Steyn, in a conversation with Parthiv Patel, heaped praise on Mohammed Siraj for his phenomenal performance against Kolkata Knight Riders.
”They were amazing. I thought Siraj to comeback from his last game against Kolkata Knight Riders in Sharjah when he went for a couple of runs and perform like this shows the character that he is and what kind of class player he is. Well done to him and I think everyone struck it together nicely tonight. One of those nights where things go your way,” Dale Steyn said in a video posted by RCB on their official Youtube channel.
Dale Steyn, who hasn’t played lot of games for RCB this year, also went on to joke that he wants to take all the glory for the success of the pacers this season when asked by Parthiv about being a mentor to young pacers.
“I want to take all the glory but I can’t unfortunately,” said Steyn.
“Everyone is actually keen to learn. The youngsters in the batting are learning from the top batsman Virat and ABD. Obviously, the same thing happening to the bowlers. They are all speaking to Chris (Morris) and myself. It’s nice to share knowledge,” he added.
