Pakistan speedster Shaheen Shah Afridi has opted out of foreign T20 leagues to concentrate on his role as the newly appointed captain of Pakistan’s T20 side.
As per a report of Inside Sport, Afridi has decided to terminate his existing three-year deal with Desert Vipers in the ILT20 league in Dubai and has turned down a fresh contract proposal from a team in the Big Bash League (BBL).
Afridi is slated to join Pakistan for a three-match Test series in Australia beginning December 14, followed by his captaincy debut with the T20 team in New Zealand in late January. Subsequently, Pakistan has a busy schedule of T20 matches leading up to the T20 World Cup 2024, co-hosted by the Caribbean and the USA.
