

A sensational batting effort followed by a clinical bowling performance helped India Legends decimate England Legends by 40 runs in the rain-marred match of the Road Safety World Series 2022 on Friday.
Asked to chase the stiff target of 171 runs in 15 overs, England Legends never got the momentum in their batting as they were restricted to 130 for six at the end of the second inning.
Phil Mustard and Chris Tremlett finished up as the highest run-getters for England, Legends, having scored 29 and 24 runs respectively.
As for India Legends, Rajesh Pawar was the chief annihilator with the ball, having returned with the impressive figure of 3/12 in his three overs’ spells. The likes of Pragyan Ojha, Stuart Binny, and Manpreet Gony also embraced a scalp each.

Earlier, batting great Sachin Tendulkar rolled back the clock and displayed his class with the bat, scoring 40 runs off just 20 balls to provide the team a flying start.
Wicket-keeper batter Naman Ojha aided the batting veteran well from the other front and forged up a 65-run opening stand with Tendulkar.
The likes of Yusuf Pathan (27), Stuart Binny (18), and Yuvraj Singh (31*) also chipped in with handy contributions to help India Legends post a daunting total of 170 runs at the end of the first inning.
For England Legends, Stephen Parry starred with the ball, having picked three wickets while conceding just 19 runs in his three overs’ spell. Chris Schofield also got a wicket to his name.
Following this victory, India Legends, who are yet to encounter a defeat in the tournament maintain their stay at the top of the table while England Legends, on contrary, are winless so far and are currently lurking at the second last place in the league standings.
