Pakistan captain Babar Azam parted ways with the Karachi Kings and joined Peshawar Zalmi ahead of the upcoming eighth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
The official handle of Peshawar Zalmi took to Twitter to confirm the development.
Babar Azam was part of Karachi Kings for six seasons. The team had a disastrous PSL campaign last year as they finished the season at the bottom of the points table.
Babar Azam-led Karachi Kings could manage to win only one match out of the ten they played in the tournament. Also, the Pakistan opener became the first skipper to lose nine matches in a single season of PSL.
Having accumulated 2,413 runs in 68 matches, the stylish right-hander batter is the all-time highest run-scorer of Pakistan Super League. All the retentions by six franchises will be revealed by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), later today.
