Former Pakistan skipper Babar Azam notched up 58 runs off 37 deliveries during the third T20I against New Zealand on Wednesday, January 17. Unfortunately, the effort was in vain as New Zealand beat Pakistan by 45 runs to take an unassailable 3–0 lead in the five-match series.
The elegant right-handed batter, Babar Azam, has maintained excellent form during the New Zealand tour, securing scores of 66 and 57 runs in the first two T20I matches. He extended his remarkable streak with yet another half-century in the third T20I against New Zealand.
Babar Azam enters the record books with a unique feat, becoming the first Asian batter to score three consecutive half-centuries in a losing cause in the history of T20I series. No other Asian batter has faced such a streak of three half-centuries in consecutive losses.
