We Haven’t Been Able to Get Off to a Good Start: Steve Smith
RR captain, Steve Smith feels that losing wickets early in the match was the reason behind their loss. He further added that their team wasn’t able to get off to a good start in the last three games they played. He also mentioned how they need to work on their batting.
“I think losing wickets early doesn’t help, we haven’t been able to get off to a good start in the last three games. Outside of Jos and Archer at the end, we have a bit of work to do on our batting,” Smith said in the post-match conference.
Stokes is Not Out Till The 10th I Think: Steve Smith
Smith also mentioned Ben Stokes and said that he will join the team soon and they really need to get few wins and gain momentum before he joins the team.
“He (Stokes) is not out till the 10th I think. He is not too far away, hopefully, we can get a few wins before he’s back and then gain momentum,” said RR captain.
At last, he said that they don’t need to stress out a lot as a game is just about implementing plans and playing some good cricket. Later, he wished to catch some momentum in the upcoming matches.
“I don’t think we need to panic too much, it is just about implementing our plans and playing some good cricket for longer. We haven’t been able to do that in the last three games and we have to turn it around quickly. Hopefully, get a bit of momentum,” he concluded.
