Former Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi has confirmed that pacer Shaheen Afridi’s family has approached to get the cricketer married to his daughter Aqsa. Regarded as one of the most promising fast bowlers in the current batch of the Green Army, Shaheen was earlier in speculations about getting engaged to former Pakistan captain Afridi’s eldest daughter.
Shahid Afridi is blessed with five daughters- Aqsa, Ansha, Ajwa, Asmara, and Arwa. Afridi, on Sunday, took to Twitter to confirm the reports. Afridi, in his Tweet, said that Shaheen Shah Afridi’s family has approached his family for their son’s marriage with his elder daughter.
Afridi said both families are in touch, adding that his prayers are with Shaheen for his continued success in the future.
“Shaheen’s family approached my family for my daughter. Both families are in touch, matches are made in heaven, if Allah wills this match will be made too. My prayers are with Shaheen for his continued success on and off the field,” Shahid Afridi said in his tweet.
According to reports, Shahid Afridi’s family said that since Shaheen is playing cricket and Shahid Afridi’s daughter is still studying, the engagement has not yet been formally announced. The family has requested to avoid speculations about the matter.
Afridi, 20, made his international debut for Pakistan in April 2018 and his Test match debut for the national team in December 2018. Recently, he became the first youngest bowler to complete 100 T20 wickets.
