Kane Williamson Became The Fastest Player to Score 7000 Test Runs For New Zealand, Hits His 4th Double Century

Kane Williamson became the 13th fastest batsman to complete 7000 Test runs. Williamson is just behind former captains Fleming-Taylor in terms of most Test runs.

New Zealand skipper on Tuesday, January 05, Kane Williamson became the 13th fastest batsman to complete 7000 Test runs. Williamson achieves this feat during his fantastic inning of 238 runs against Pakistan in the ongoing 2nd Test in Christchurch.

Williamson reached this milestone, taking just 83 matches and 144 innings. With this Williamson joined an elite list of New Zealand players who achieved this feat, Ross Taylor (7,379) and Stephen Fleming (7,172).

Williamson Played 13 Matches Less Than Ross Taylor

Ross Taylor is second in terms of making the fastest 7 thousand Test runs. He achieved this feat in 96 Tests. While Kane Williamson achieved this in the 84th Test, playing 13 matches less than him.

Kane Williamson is just behind former captains Fleming-Taylor in terms of most Test runs. Williamson has scored 7115 runs in 83 Tests so far. While Fleming has scored 7172 in 111 Tests and Taylor has scored 7379 runs in 105 matches.

New Zealand is 1-0 ahead in the 2 match Test series against Pakistan. In the first match played at Mount Maunganui, New Zealand defeated Pakistan by 101 runs.
