India Win Women’s Cricket Gold at Asian Games With 147-Run Victory Over Sri Lanka

India won the gold medal in women’s cricket at the Asian Games after beating Sri Lanka by 147 runs in the final at Korogi Sports Park in Nisshin. The victory marked India’s second consecutive gold medal in the event.
Smriti Mandhana led India’s batting effort with 79 runs, while Richa Ghosh remained unbeaten on 49. Shafali Verma also made a valuable contribution with 48 runs as India posted a strong total of 216/3 in 20 overs.
Sri Lanka struggled throughout the chase and were bowled out for just 69 in 15.4 overs. Deepti Sharma led India’s bowling attack with an excellent spell of 3/6, helping the team seal a dominant win.
The 147-run victory also set a record for India’s biggest winning margin in an Asian Games cricket final. The team extended its T20I winning streak to eight matches, adding another milestone to its campaign.

India finished on top of the podium with the gold medal, while Sri Lanka claimed silver. Pakistan secured the bronze medal after defeating Bangladesh by 31 runs in the bronze-medal match.
India’s latest triumph follows its gold-medal finish at the 2023 Asian Games. The back-to-back titles underline the team’s continued success in the competition.
