The Caribbean side will leave home on September 21 and arrive in Trivandrum on September 23, ahead of the opening match of the series.

Shimron Hetmyer will miss the ODI series as he takes a break following the Caribbean Premier League. However, the left-handed batter will join the squad for the five-match T20I series, giving West Indies another attacking option in the shorter format.

John Campbell has returned to the squad, while Jewel Andrew has been named as a replacement for the injured Ackeem Auguste. The selectors have also handed Kamil Pooran his maiden T20I call-up, offering the youngster an opportunity to make his international debut.

Jason Holder, meanwhile, has been rested for the T20I series. His absence will give other players a chance to take on greater responsibility during the five matches against India.

The tour also comes at an important time for West Indies cricket. The team has missed out on automatic qualification for the 2027 ODI World Cup and will now have to compete in the qualification tournament to secure a place in the event.

The series against India will therefore serve as a useful test for the Caribbean side as it looks to build a competitive squad, assess emerging players and prepare for the challenges ahead.
