India vs Australia 2024-25

The India vs Australia cricket rivalry is one of the most exciting in the world. It started in 1947 when Australia first visited India for a series. Since then, the two teams have played many memorable matches in all formats – Test, ODI, and T20I. Over the years, both teams have dominated at home, but India has been very strong in recent years, especially in their own country, while Australia still performs well on their home ground.

Looking at the records, India has won 20 out of 32 T20I matches, while Australia has won 11. In ODIs, Australia leads with 84 wins out of 151 matches, and India has won 57. In Test cricket, Australia has won 45 out of 107 matches, while India has won 32. The biggest part of this rivalry is the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, a Test series that is named after two great players, Allan Border from Australia and Sunil Gavaskar from India. This series has become a huge event, with both teams fighting hard to prove their strength. 

The Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 will feature India National Cricket Team and Australia National Cricket Team in a thrilling five-match Test series. The first match will be played at Perth Stadium, followed by the pink-ball Test at Adelaide Oval from December 6. The series will continue with the third Test at The Gabba in Brisbane from December 14, followed by the fourth Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground from December 26. 

The final match of the series will be held at the Sydney Cricket Ground from January 3-7. This will be the first time since 1991-92 that the two teams are playing a five-match Test series, with India having won all four of the previous series between them, including back-to-back wins in Australia in 2018-19 and 2020-21.
