IND vs ENG 4th T20I: India, on Thursday, beat England by eight runs in the fourth T20I at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad to keep the series alive. The five-match series will now be decided by the fifth and final game on Saturday (March 20).

Batting first after losing the toss, India scored 185/8 thanks to Suryakumar Yadav’s maiden International half-century. In response, England’s team could only score 177 runs after losing eight wickets.

India got off to a decent start by scoring 45 runs in the first six overs. Playing his second T20, Suryakumar (57) batted brilliantly. Apart from him, Shreyas Iyer (37) and Rishabh Pant (30) also made useful contributions and India gave a target of 186 runs to England.

In reply, England could manage only 177 runs and fell 8 runs short. However, there was a time when the English batsmen Ben Stokes (46) and Jonny Bairstow (25) turned the game on its head with a quickfire stand of 65 runs off just 36 balls and almost gave mini heart attacks to the men in blue. For India, Shardul Thakur took a maximum of three wickets.

In his second T20I, Suryakumar got a chance to bat, in which he impressed the entire cricket fraternity and fans. He hit a six off the first ball of his international career and became only the fifth cricketer in the world (since 2002 in Test-playing countries) to do so.

Surya scored 57 runs in 31 balls with the help of six fours and three sixes. He became only the fifth Indian player to score a half-century in his first T20I innings.

Rohit Sharma, on Thursday, scored 12 runs in 12 balls with the help of a six and four. He became the first Indian to smash 50 sixes in a T20 international. During this time he crossed the 9,000-run mark in T20 cricket and became only the second Indian batsman after Kohli to do so.

Rohit now has 9,001 runs in 342 T20 matches at a strike rate of 133.3. Meanwhile, he has scored six centuries and 63 half-centuries in his T20 career.

India captain Virat Kohli was stumped for the first time in T20I cricket on Thursday. Kohli had just walked in after the departure of KL in the 4th ODI against England when Adil Rashid bowled a googly which the 32-year-old missed completely.

Virat Kohli was oozing confidence as had smashed 2 consecutive fifties coming into the match. He confidently danced down the track but the ball passed straight through the gap as wicketkeeper Jos Buttler did the rest of the job. He departed for 1.

Adil Rashid also became the first bowler to get Virat Kohli stumped twice in his international career. Kohli was stumped by the same combination of Buttler & Rashid in the Nottingham ODI in 2018.

Suryakumar Yadav, on Thursday, announced his arrival at the international stage with a six. In the second T20I against England, Suryakumar Yadav came to bat at no. 3 and at the very first ball of his international career, the stylish batsman played a pull shot against Jofra Archer to slam a six.

Jason Roy, on Thursday, smashed 40 runs from 27 balls and has completed 1,000 runs in his 42nd match during his T20 career. Before the 4th T20I, he was just 6 runs away from achieving this feat and he did it with the help of his brilliant innings he played for his side.
