India’s star batter Suryakumar Yadav retained his position at the top of the ICC Men’s T20I Batting Rankings with 890 points after his extraordinary performances in the recently concluded T20I series against New Zealand.
The Mumbai batter became the No.1 T20I batter after a stellar batting show in the Super 12 stage of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022, where he clobbered three half-centuries in just five innings.
Suryakumar has achieved a rating point of 890, which is five lesser than his career-best tally in ICC Men’s T20I rankings but he has managed to hold on to the numero uno position in the batting charts.
The 32-year-old once again set the stage on fire with his breathtaking performance, this time at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui on Sunday, November 19, when he smashed a 49-ball century in India’s second T20I against New Zealand.
Overall, Suryakumar scored 111 not out off 51 balls. His outstanding century helped India post a competitive total of 191 for the loss of six wickets in 20 overs against New Zealand. The batter returned only after whacking 11 fours and 7 sixes.
